The Prime Minister hailed a “fantastic moment” for the country after embarking on the historic agreement that paves the way for the UK`s exit from the European Union next Friday. The Prime Minister said his bill gave the British government the power to repeal parts of the withdrawal agreement because the EU could take “extreme and inappropriate lengths” in the treatment of the former British member. The EU wants to continue to forge a close partnership with the UK. We believe that it is possible to reach a fruitful agreement on the basis of the political declaration. However, it is important that we prepare for all possible outcomes of the negotiations. This includes preparing not to reach an agreement. The Prime Minister says the signing of the document will end years of conflict and division The receipt of the agreement in the House of Commons ranged from freshness to hostility and the vote was delayed by more than a month. Prime Minister May has received a motion of no confidence within her own party, but the EU has refused to accept further changes. The leadership is led by a joint committee made up of representatives from the European Union and the British government. There will be a number of specialized committees that will report to the joint committee.
Since his departure, the UK has had no say in the EU institutions. Citizens of the United Kingdom are therefore also excluded from participating in European citizens` initiatives, they do not have the right to vote in local elections in other EU countries or in elections to the European Parliament, and you do not stand for election. On the European Union side, the European Parliament also approved the ratification of the agreement on 29 January 2020 and the Council of the European Union approved the conclusion of the agreement by e-mail on 30 January 2020. That is why, on 30 January 2020, the European Union also tabled its instrument for ratification of the agreement, concluding the agreement and allowing it to enter into force on the date of the UK`s withdrawal from the EU on 31 January 2020, at 11 .m GMT. Johnson said he would not use the option he has in the withdrawal agreement to extend that transition period. The Prime Minister said the 11-month time available without a new extension was “ample” time to reach a comprehensive agreement. Earlier, the document had crossed the canal on Friday on a Eurostar train, after being signed in Brussels by European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. On the issue of the Irish border, there is a protocol on Northern Ireland (the “backstop”) which is attached to the agreement and establishes a position of withdrawal which will only come into force in the absence of effective alternative provisions before the expiry of the transition period. In this case, the UK will eclipse the EU`s common external tariff and Northern Ireland will stick to aspects of the internal market until such an event is carried out. Neither party can unilaterally withdraw from this customs union. The aim of this backstop agreement is to avoid a “hard” border in Ireland, where customs controls are needed.
On 15 January 2019, the House of Commons voted with 230 votes against the Brexit withdrawal agreement, the largest vote against the British government in history. The government may survived a vote of confidence the next day. On March 12, 2019, the House of Commons voted 149 votes against the agreement, the fourth-biggest defeat of the government in the history of the House of Commons. A third vote on the Brexit withdrawal agreement, widely expected on 19 March 2019, was rejected by the House of Commons spokesman on 18 March 2019, on the basis of a parliamentary convention of 2 April 1604, which prevented British governments from forcing the House of Commons to vote several times on a subject already voted on by the House of Commons. An abbreviated version of the withdrawal agreement, in which the annex political statement had been withdrawn, consisted of the test of “substantial amendments” so that a third vote took place on 29 March 2019, but was re-elected
